Phasma- by Delilah S. Dawson

Phasma is an absolute must-read for any fan of the Star Wars franchise. An extremely well-written and engaging read, this book answers many of the burning questions relating to the titular character left unanswered in Episodes VII and VIII.

A captured resistance spy tells the story of the First Order’s most formidable soldier during an interrogation, which instantly makes for an interesting narrative. The spy then goes on to tell the tale in the perspective of, not the chrome-armored Phasma herself, but one of the stormtrooper’s clanmates. Through the eyes of this clanmate, the reader experiences first-hand Phasma’s bloody rise to power.

Dawson’s writing is perfect for this somewhat grim novel. Descriptive, while not flowery or poetic, she moves the story along very nicely. It draws readers in and does not let them go until they have read everything. Phasma is an extremely entertaining chapter in the Star Wars saga, which I highly recommend to all fans.
