Pines Montessori School was founded in 1977, and what began as just one Primary classroom has grown into the largest and most established Montessori school in the Northeast Houston area. The student body is a population of children from Infants (6 weeks) through Middle School (age 15). This year Pines celebrates their 40th Anniversary. From humble beginnings of a storefront classroom, to the expansive and lovely 5 acres of today, Pines continues to grow. The most recent development for the school was the purchase of the building next door. This space will serve as the new classroom for Middle School students in one half of the building. Plans for the second half of the building are to house not only a Maker Space for students, but also an open area to serve as a multi-purpose space that will ultimately be open to public use. Pines is also well on its way to creating an expanded kitchen that will offer teaching space for students to work alongside the school’s chef in preparing and producing snacks and meals on site. As they embark on the 40th Anniversary year-long celebration, the school community is excited to see what the future holds for Pines Montessori School.
