Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library

Kids ages six to twelve will enjoy Chris Grabenstein’s Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. This book has references to other books. The main characters are Mr. Lemoncello, Mrs. Tobin, Dr. Zinchenko, and twelve sixth-graders. This story is mainly about Kyle. Twelve-year-old Kyle loves to play games. Then his life changed when his class had an essay competition to do.
The twelve winners get to spend the weekend at the new library, which is not as ordinary as you think it will be. Kyle gets chosen as the twelfth winner of the contest. When they get in, they realize they have to find the way out. Mr. Lemoncello said the way in wasn’t the way out. And they weren’t allowed to use the emergency exit doors, so where was it? The kids enjoy playing games in the library and finding clues to find the way out. I think this book is great for following the rules. If you enjoy this book, there’s a sequel called Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics.
